Jakey is making a difference....

In Memory of Jacob, we have created the gift bags for the children at his hospital. Thank you so much to all that have donated gifts and money to make this possible. We have 255 official bags- each include at least one toy, some activities and crayons. Most include A LOT more.
And as a sampling of some of the fun stuff inside..... We've got coloring books, crayons, puzzles, cars, crowns, wands, markers, stickers, superhero duckies, heart flashlights, bracelets, tops, sticky hands, mini basketball hoops, activity books, sticker scenes, balls, books, nail polish and so much more...

We are delivering them on the anniversary of Jacob's death, to try and change our sad memories of that day, to happy ones for other children. This was so very important to me, so again thanks to all of you that got that and that helped me. It means so much to me to have a supportive family and friends.

Pool Party/Open House Fundraiser

I can't believe summer is finally here..... it's going to be a relaxing one for us. I just want to do the things that little 6 and 7 year old boys like to do. Make it a summer full of happy memories. Yet its crazy to think that last year at this time, Jakey (and all of us) were in the hospital- he was having an exploratory heart cath done. Poor little guy.

But its also that time of the year for me to do what I set my heart on doing a while back for "Jakey's Love" Fun packs for all the children that are still fighters at the hospital.

So to be able to give these children some fun and make them smile, I am doing a fundraiser to help raise funds to be able to purchase nice gifts for these precious ones.

On July 10th at 1pm at our home starts an Open House Pool Party/Fundraiser

There is a $5 suggested donation per person.

Come for a swim, a hotdog/snacks.
Bring your own towel.

E-mail me at MsJeners@aol.com if you would like to rsvp. Or to send a donation to help out.

I so appreciate all who have already helped as well as all who have shown me SO much love.
Thank you!

March 31, 2010

March 31th, Jacob Miguel would have been 1 year old! A whole year has passed since our baby was born. I knew this was going to be an emotional month for me, but I never would have guessed just how hard. I just miss Jacob so much! And I get so angry... because WHY did this have to happen to my little boy? Why?? Why did my baby have to suffer so much?

Just the other day, Isaac showed me a picture he drew last year in K5. (which I never saw, since I was in Ohio at the time.) But it was of him with a dog outside with a rainbow.... entitled how he wanted a puppy. But also in the picture was this little person crawling on the grass. And Isaac says to me, "I really thought it was going to happen Mom, I really did." And I was like What? And he went on to say, "Its just not fair that Jacob never even got to crawl around in the grass. He never even was old enough to do that. I really thought he was going to be able to." It just broke my heart. Because its so true.... Its not fair! People everyday take the little things for granted. And now when I hear people complain that their tired... oh the baby wants to eat every hour.. blah, blah blah... I have no sympathy for them. Maybe thats mean of me, but I don't.

All I want is to hold a baby... I crave it. It's like my body, my whole being, knows that Jakey is missing... something is not right. My heart broke along with Jakey's and i know we both need to patiently wait on God's kingdom for both our hearts to be fixed.

Power of a simple gift to bring cheer to someone that so deserves it!

After much thought on what to do in honor of Jacob. We thought that what we really wanted was to bring alittle joy to the children at the hospital that are enduring so much and are so very strong. When we were in the hospital there was a few times that people came in and distributed gifts for Jakey and I just thought that was so nice and it really made my day. So in hopes of putting a smile on some faces, this is our plan.....

Jacob’s Heart of Love

In memory of our dear baby boy, Jacob, we will be raising funds and accepting gifts to create “fun packs” for the boys and girls at Nationwide Children’s hospital.

Anyone who has had a stay in a hospital knows that it is not fun! It can be scary, especially for children. So please help us spread some happiness! There are about 300 children at NWCH. Some stay the day, some weeks, others months.

People from all over the world travel to this hospital because they have techniques to conserve blood and have successfully done bloodless surgeries that others hospitals say are impossible!

On August 23rd, the anniversary of Jacob’s death, we will be returning to Columbus Ohio in memory of him. While there we will be delivering these fun packs to amazing children and their parents. If enough money is made we also have hopes of purchasing a wagon for the children at the hospital.

If you would like to contribute at all please send donations to:

P.O. Box 28884

Milwaukee, WI 53228
